Learn more about our Facebook plans this Friday

I'm speaking on a panel this Friday at the SNAP Summit on the topic of "Platform Strategies - What Works and What Doesn't", should be fun opportunity to summarize what I've learned from watching friends at Flixster and iLike go at it for the past few months. I probably can't avoid revealing some of our (different...yes, different) application plans for a Facebook and other social platforms, so if you are curious, be sure to come by.

As an attendee, I think I'm most curious about what Scoble will make of the blogger roundtable and if the reps from Facebook get tired of saying "no comment" when pushed on expected upcoming announcements.

Beta 1.4 update released

We've now released another update to the site.  The Beta 1.4 update improves some of the profile management features on the site, and includes additional cosmetic and bug fixes which we didn't have time to roll into the previous build.  A big thanks go out to our private beta testers, who have been sending us valuable feedback about the site and what they'd like to see happen with it.  Keep that feedback coming!

ffwd releases beta candidate

We have great news to share today. We released the first beta candidate of ffwd, a new service designed based on what we learned from Project Vadver. Presently only alpha users have access but please sign up to receive an invitation.

Our alpha users showed us that there are three things that help make sense of the video content explosion:

1. A viewer profile and history that accounts for your TV and online habits.

2. Tools for unlocking the intelligence of your social network.

3. A discovery experience that recommends content AND guides you through it.

We believe we have built the best place to explore and watch video on the web and with the feedback of our beta users we can evolve our service into a platform for solving the video viewing problems of the future.
